Welcome to the Suburban Otaku Squad, an anime and Japanese culture appreciation club located in the King of Prussia area.

For our regular meetings, our club selects three different animes, we then watch two episodes from each of those shows, per meeting, until we have completed the series. For the last hour we have a potluck showing which is where anyone can bring the first disk of an anime in and we vote for which one we watch.

We meet at 5pm on the first, third, and fifth Saturdays of every month. Showings are free and pizza is available for $5 a person.

News Events and Interesting Stuff

03/01/08 - Our Dinner and a Movie movie will be Paprika.

02/23/08 - Now announcing our first Dinner and a Movie of 2008. Wednesday March 12 th 7 pm Kabuki resturant in King of Prussia PA.

12/23/07 - Due to con participation we will not be having our club showing on the first Saturday of January 2008.

11/07/07 - Due to heavy club participation in AUSA we will not be having our regular club showing on Nov 17th. In addition we have moved the continuance vote for Speed Grapher to our Dec 3 rd showing. We will also be voting on the next two shows at the Dec 3 rd meeting, so get all your pitches in by the Friday before.

10/20/07 - Our Nov 3rd showing will be an AMV screening for the AUSA AMV contest, come watch and have a voice in what AMVs make the cut. Also we will be holding a vote to see if Speed Grapher should be replaced or kept in the linup, all active members can vote, if you can't make the showing but still want to vote just email one of the officers and we will make sure your vote gets in the pot.

08/22/07 - on Wed August 29th we will once again be having dinner and a movie night at Kabuki's. The movie starts at 7pm and we will be watching Death Note 2 the Live Action.

7/10/07 - This Thursday July 12th we will be having a library presentation for the Tredyffrin Library. This year due to construction at the library it will be held at the Community Room of the Tredyffrin Township Building, at 1100 Duportail Road, Berwyn. 7/1/07 - We are doing a lot of voting on July 7th, not only are we voting for our next two shows, and on a movie for dinner and a movie, but also we will be voting on whether or not to remove a show from the lineup and shorten the club showings by an hour. What this means is we would watch three series, and potluck, and club would be from 6pm-10pm instead of 5pm-10pm. Please be ready to vote on all the issues, and get your pitches for shows and movie in by Friday July 6

06/16/07 - The June 30th club showing will once again be a Japanese game event. On July 7th we will be voting for the next two shows we will watch, so get your pitches in by Friday July 6th at midnight.

06/13/07 - There have been some issues recently with the shows and review secitons and all issues should now be resolved.

03/17/07 - The choice has been made, we will be watching Death Note for Dinner and a Movie.

03/07/07 - We are having another Dinner and a Movie night at Kabuki on Wed 3/28/07. Voting will be held during the club showing on 03/17, please email all pitches to sos-discuss@sos-anime.org by the Friday before club.

07/29/06 - Once again Otakon is upon us, and as such we will regrettably not be having our regular club showing on Aug 5th.

07/09/06 - Since two of our shows are now over we will be holding voting next club showing. Please remember to email your pitches by friday before club.

05/27/06 - Some updates for our June showings. Our June 3rd showing is going to be our annual screening for Otakon's AMV contest. We will look at all the submissions and vote on what should be in the contest. There will be no club showing on June 17th due to absence of several club officers for a con.

01/21/06 - Today begins the reign of the second president of the S.O.S. Aaron Wolfrom.

12/17/05 - Full Metal Panic : FUMOFFU will replace L/R as we begin the new year, just a reminder there will be no club on 12/31/05 or 01/07/06 due to the new year, and Ohyocon

11/02/05 - Dinner and a Movie is tonight at 7 at Kabuki. We will be watching 'The Place Promised In Our Early Days' and 'Tokyo Raiders', come and enjoy the fun and sushi.

10/01/05 - The next SOS dinner and a movie will be November 2nd at 7pm at Kabuki. Voting for the movies will be on Oct 29th. Members need to email their pitches to president@sos-anime.org by friday Oct 28th.

9/17/05 - Well Otakon is over and so I once again have some free time to start messing with the web site and updating the content and functionality. I’ll let you know how it goes and also look for Dinner and a Movie coming soon.
